Pork chops with figs

8 pork chops

Fig basting sauce

1 tin (410 g) figs or 6 fresh figs
30 ml soy sauce
30 ml dry white wine
15 ml Worcester sauce
3 ml mustard powder
1/2 medium onion, grated

Method

Pour figs and half of the syrup into a blender. Add soy sauce, wine, Worcester sauce and mustard and blend. Pour liquid into a sauce pan and add onion. Bring mixture to the boil, reduce the heat and simmer for 5 minutes without a lid. Grill the chops over medium coals. Regularly baste chops with sauce. Heat remaining basting sauce and serve with chops.
